Since our inception in 1970, we have served children and families of Greater Lawrence with high quality, nonprofit programs. From providing fun, developmentally appropriate learning experiences to healthy meals to physical activity and social learning experiences, we are dedicated to promoting the healthy development of children. Rich programming and caring, highly qualified staff offer peace of mind that students are in exceptional care with us.

Child Care Center
The Child Care Center is a positive, nurturing environment for children – toddlers to school-age students – to reach their full potential.
Students are served two nutritious meals and one snack every day; prepared fresh in our kitchen.
Three playgrounds let toddlers, preschoolers and school-age students play with children in their age group and develop gross motor skills.
The Child Care Center accepts children age 15 months to 11 years old on a space-available basis.
The center offers very competitive rates, and state-funded financial aid is available for qualifying families.
Transportation is provided for children living in Lawrence. Transportation for students in the School-Age Program is available from Lawrence Public Schools to the center.
School-age students attend daily after school and full-time during all school vacation weeks and summer vacation.
Head Start educates young children and does so much more. We provide support services to strengthen families and foster a spirit of life-long learning. GLCAC’s Head Start is nationally accredited and recognized as a leader in early childhood education. The students learn more than ABC and 1,2,3. They build a foundation in science, technology, engineering and mathematics with an award-winning STEM curriculum.
GLCAC’s Head Start serves children ages 15 months – 5 years old from low-income families in Lawrence, Methuen, Andover and North Andover who meet the program requirements and are eligible for subsidized services.
We have five locations in Lawrence and Methuen that offer two options:
Half day during the school year.
Full day all year long.
School bus transportation is available for most of the Greater Lawrence service area.
